Sombhag Union Parishad

 

Sombhag Union Parishad started the journey from July 1, 1961. Sombhag union is one of the most unions of Dhamrai upazila. In 1961 Chairmman was called a village president. Md. Abdus sobahan was elected as the first village president. Then gradually Abdul Jalil did the President's duties. In 1965, Abdul Jalil was nominated as the first union council chairman during the Pakistan period and he was the Chairman of the Union during the War of Liberation. He is the chairman of Sombhag Union Parishad for 23 long years. At present, the Sombhag Union Parishad, comprising 21 small villages.
